Dies for Snap Fasteners (set of four)
Proper usage of dies should give you a
clean setting or punched hole each and every time. In order to avoid problems and extend the
life of the dies, the following suggestions may prove helpful. Always be sure that the dies are inserted
correctly in the press. In the case of
snap fastener dies that have spring sleeves or spring pins, place these dies
in the lower die holder or adjustable bushing while retaining dies go into
the top die holder. When using grommet
or eyelet dies, be sure the dies with the pin or point goes into the lower
bushing. Additionally, always run
sample setting before beginning production to insure that the lower bushing
is adjusted properly. This helps to avoid
oversetting or undersetting. Sample
settings also allow you to recognize dies that may be worn. Replace these as soon as possible. Finally, avoid tapping dies together
without having some material between the dies. This precludes damaging the dies especially
snap fastener cap and socket dies.
